How healthy is the tree?

In case of tree care and tree inspection in line with public safety obligations, our devices help identify inner tree defects at an early stage. This way, measures can be taken in good time to prevent injury to persons and damage to property in parks, avenues and forests: valuable stock of trees will be conserved in the long term.

Lifesavers with little effort

Using our almost non-destructive drilling resistance measurement method (IML-RESI system), one can determine the building condition of timbered houses and/or timber constructions protected as a historic monument. This means that damaged and rotten wooden elements can be recognized in good time and replaced.

With little measurement effort, meaningful information about material properties, structure, internal damage and the remaining wall thickness of timber beams can be determined. In addition, supporting timber beams stability and load-bearing capacity can be determined.

Only stable inside can be safe outside!

How safe is playground equipment?

Fault diagnosis of timber playground equipment can identify defective and rotten elements that often lead to accidents with injuries or even death. Regular checks of timber playground equipment like swings, seesaws and climbing frames are both extremely important and required by law.

Since the damage to the impregnated wood usually cannot be seen from the outside, timber playground equipment must be checked regularly for decay and internal damage.

How stable is the wooden mast?

Using the IML-RESI systems, wood composition and internal defects can be detected conclusively by means of drilling resistance and feed force measurement. A drilling needle is pressed down into the wood at a constant feed rate and the energy required to do so during the drilling process is recorded based on the needle penetration depth. The acquired data can be electronically recorded in the form of measurement curves per device version and transferred to the PC via software, evaluated and processed further.

It is even possible to have the curves evaluated fully automatically and, after the measurements, display the results of the mast condition directly on the device.

Wooden masts must be checked regularly for stability and traffic safety purposes. Only completely intact masts meet high safety requirements. Potential damage inside masts often cannot be seen from the outside. About 90 percent of all defects or damage to wooden masts occur below the ground level. These invisible weaknesses can often only be determined by extensive investigations or excavations. We have developed the IML-RESI systems for our products especially for this purpose and other scenarios for wooden mast defect inspection.
